Job Summary The Room Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional Housekeeping services by ensuring Guest rooms are cleaned, sanitized, and maintained to the highest standards, consistently exceeding Guest expectations. The role delivers friendly, safe, efficient, and professional service while ensuring all guestrooms, balconies, amenities, minibars, and housekeeping areas are prepared and maintained according to One&Only Cape Town (O&OCT) standards , health and safety regulations, and standard operating procedures.

Key Duties & Responsibilities Operations

  • Exceed Guest expectations by delivering exceptional housekeeping services.
  • Clean and maintain assigned Guest rooms, balconies, pantries, trolleys, server rooms, and caddies according to O&OCT standards.
  • Perform general and deep cleaning, sanitization, and room set-up following standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare arrival rooms and maintain site inspection rooms before 09:00 daily.
  • Ensure amenities, linens, supplies, and minibars are replenished according to standards.
  • Check that Compendiums, In-Room Directories, Resort booklets, and Spa flyers are current and in good condition.
  • Notify In-Room Dining (IRD) when room service trays require collection.
  • Complete evening turndown service according to the housekeeping schedule.
  • Report maintenance defects promptly and follow up to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain pantry cleanliness and adhere to chemical handling procedures and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Safeguard assigned Master Key and report all Lost & Found items.

Quality

  • Ensure all daily tasks are completed to O&OCT standards.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
  • Develop positive working relationships with colleagues and other departments to support effective teamwork.
  • Adhere to grooming standards and maintain professional appearance at all times.

General Duties

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.
  • Attend required training and continuously improve knowledge and skills.
  • Comply with hotel policies relating to fire, hygiene, health, safety, and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain a complete understanding of the Employee Handbook and hotel regulations.
  • Uphold the highest standards of personal appearance, hygiene, courtesy, and guest service at all times.
