Job description
Role Overview:
We are specifically looking for applicants seeking fixed term contracts for project specific timelines (3-6 months).
The role of an Audit Senior includes assisting with the planning, execution, and finalisation of audit engagements. This involves overseeing and coaching team members, performing a first-level review of their work, and reporting to the Audit Supervisor or Audit Manager on team performance and audit progress. Additionally, the Audit Senior ensures effective communication channels are maintained to deliver an efficient and high-quality audit engagement.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Managing own audit engagements, attending to client queries
- Completing planning and the high-risk finalisation sections in the audit engagement
- Setting sample sizes and design audit procedures during the execution stage of the audit engagement
- Client meetings
- Providing audit advice on audit issues to trainees (as and when required)
- Reporting to Audit Supervisor on ongoing audit engagement
- Reporting to Audit Supervisor on overall economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of audit trainees.
- Performing a first review of the workbooks prepared by the trainees
- Managing the audit budget process and communicating overruns to the supervisor
- Drafting of Management letter
- Meeting deadlines as set out by at the start of the engagement by the Partner or manager
- Ensuring effective communication is maintained between the firm and the client
- Assisting with other engagements such as review engagements as and when necessary
- To complete weekly timesheets
- To advise the manager of work conducted for invoicing purposes
- Supervising audit seniors and juniors, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
Minimum Requirements:
- Accredited BCOM accounting degree
- Completed SAICA articles
- CA (SA) / AGA
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to lead complex projects and initiatives that require multi-level stakeholder engagement.
- Strong and effective communication skills, with proven ability to negotiate and influence change, with sensitivity
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking and project management/planning skills
- Understands basic financial accounting
- Experience with leading audit engagements from start to end as well as managing teams
- Excellent IT skills, including experience with MS Office
Commission built in based on project delivery
Pay: R20 000,00 - R25 000,00 per month

- Bachelors (Required)
