Auto Electrical & Tracking Technician

Location: South Africa

Employment Type: Part time/ potential full time

Department: Technical & Field Services

ABOUT THE ROLE

Myts Corporation is looking for a skilled, reliable and professional Auto Electrical & Tracking Technician to join our technical field-services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for automotive electrical work, vehicle tracking-unit installations and de-installations, diagnostics, maintenance and technical support at client sites.

This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can work independently, handle client vehicles with care and consistently deliver high-quality workmanship.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Install vehicle tracking and telematics units professionally and correctly.

- De-install tracking units without damaging the client's vehicle.

- Ensure electrical systems are not damaged during installation or de-installation.

- Inspect vehicles before and after installations/de-installations.

- Identify and report existing vehicle damage or electrical issues before commencing work.

- Complete job cards, installation reports and required technical documentation.

- Capture required installation/de-installation evidence.

- Test tracking units after installation and confirm correct operation.

- Maintain tools, equipment and company property.

- Travel to client sites and perform field-service work.

- Communicate professionally with clients and site personnel.

- Follow MYTS technical, safety, security and operational procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must have:

- Recognised Auto Electrical qualification.

- Valid Driver's Licence.

- Proven driving experience.

- Practical experience working on motor vehicles.

- Experience installing vehicle tracking units.

- Experience de-installing vehicle tracking units.

- Ability to work carefully around vehicle interiors, trim and electrical systems.

- Police Clearance results/certificate.

- Good communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and responsibly.

- Professional appearance and conduct.

- Medically fit.

EXPERIENCE

Experience in any of the following will be highly advantageous:

- Vehicle tracking and telematics.

- Fleet management.

- Auto electrical workshops.

- Field-service environments.

- Commercial and fleet vehicles.

- Vehicle alarm and immobiliser systems.

- CAN-bus and automotive electronic systems.

- Vehicle recovery/tracking technology.

IMPORTANT — VEHICLE CARE

Myst works with client vehicles and assets that must be treated with the highest level of care. The successful candidate must be able to install and remove tracking equipment cleanly, safely and without avoidable damage.Poor workmanship, careless handling of vehicles, unauthorised wiring modifications or damage caused through negligence will not be acceptable.

The technician represents MYTS directly when working on a client's vehicle. Technical quality and client trust are therefore equally important.
