Job description
- Conducts fault finding and investigations to diagnose repairs and maintenance requirements on all models of Ultimate Dependability (UD) and Mercedes trucks and trailers
- Analyses causes of faults, orders spares, requests quotes and submits for pre-approval
- Conducts repairs, rewiring and resetting of trucks and trailers
- Repairs fuel, heat and battery gauges on trucks
- Reprograms and conducts adjustments on trailer modulators
- Test drives repaired vehicles to ensure that the repairs were effectively and correctly carried out
- Responds to breakdowns and emergencies and carries out onsite repairs when necessary
- Adheres to breakdown safety protocols
- Implements safety standard operating procedures at all times to minimise the risk of further incidents / accidents
- Attends to certificate of fitness (COF) defects on vehicles
- Performs preventative maintenance on service trucks
- Conducts strict inspection checklist procedures and maintains accurate paperwork and documentation
- Completes and submits job cards for all work conducted
- Identifies and makes proactive recommendations for preventative maintenance of vehicles to prevent major breakdowns of vehicles
- Maintains optimum stock levels of parts, tools and equipment
- Escalates complex / unresolved repairs to the Workshop Forem
Pay: R18 500,00 per month
