Job description
Remca Engineering is seeking a skilled Automotive Machinist to join our engineering workshop in Welkom. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented professional with a passion for precision engineering and high-quality workmanship.
Minimum Requirements
- Qualified Automotive Machinist (Red Seal or equivalent recognised trade qualification).
- Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in an automotive engineering or engine reconditioning workshop.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid South African driver's licence.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Welkom or surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine and refurbish engine components to manufacturer specifications.
- Recondition cylinder heads, engine blocks, crankshafts, connecting rods, flywheels and other automotive components.
- Operate engine reconditioning machinery safely and efficiently.
- Measure and inspect components using precision measuring instruments.
- Maintain high standards of quality, workmanship and housekeeping.
- Diagnose machining requirements and recommend appropriate repair methods.
- Ensure all work complies with company quality standards and safety procedures.
