About the Role:

A fast-growing B2B outbound sales company is opening a new office in Johannesburg and hiring the person to build and run it. This is a new team from the first hire, not an existing floor to inherit. You would own the hiring, training and day-to-day running of a cold-calling team, working EU/UK hours, with real autonomy over how the function is built.

What Were Looking For:

Team Building & Coaching: Hire, train, and coach SDRs on cold calling, objection handling, and lead qualification, building the team floor from the very first seat.
Pipeline & Metric Ownership: Own performance numbers pulled live from the systems, including dials, connects, meetings booked, meetings attended, and attendance rates.
Performance Management: Conduct regular 1:1s, catch performance dips early, and confidently handle tough performance conversations when required.
Lead from the Front: Get on the phone regularly yourself - not just when issues arise - to lead by example and demonstrate high-volume outreach.
Autonomous Leadership: Take complete ownership and run the office floor day to day with genuine autonomy.

What Were Looking For:

Hands-on Sales Leadership: Proven experience as a Sales Manager with a strong background in cold calling and a track record of leading from the front.
Funnel & Activity Management: Demonstrated ability to manage SDR activity metrics, control the daily funnel, and run a high-volume sales floor.
Ground-Up Team Construction: Experience building a team from scratch - sourcing, hiring, training, and onboarding reps rather than stepping into an existing setup.
Operational Fit: Full comfort working EU/UK hours on-site in Johannesburg.
Environment Experience: Prior background in high-volume outbound or call-center environments is an advantage.
