Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Bagel Baker role based in Green Point, Cape Town. The Bagel Baker is responsible for preparing, shaping, boiling, and baking bagels according to established recipes and quality standards. Daily tasks include measuring and mixing dough, monitoring proofing and baking times, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area. The role also involves preparing related baked goods, coordinating with front-of-house staff to ensure product availability, managing inventory of baking ingredients, and following food safety and hygiene procedures. The Bagel Baker contributes to a positive team environment and supports consistent, timely production to meet customer demand.

Qualifications

• Experience in bakery operations, including working in a Bakery environment and handling Baking processes
• Skills in Food Preparation and dough handling, with attention to quality and consistency
• Ability to produce Cookies and other baked items alongside core bagel offerings
• Knowledge of Bread production, including mixing, proofing, and baking techniques
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and basic kitchen equipment maintenance
• Strong time management, reliability, and ability to work early morning shifts as needed
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced setting, follow recipes accurately, and adapt to production needs
• Previous experience in a bakery, café, or commercial kitchen is essential
