BAKERY MANAGER - GEORGE

The Role

Large supermarket in George requires an experienced Bakery Manager to take control of their bakery and confectionery departments and to manage the other workers. In addition, good verbal communication and customer service skills, knowledge of how to maintain and use equipment, and good health and safety practices are all required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage all bakery staff, including hiring, scheduling, and training
• Create and maintain confectionery ideas, including new product development and recipe testing
• Track inventory and place orders for supplies as needed
• Do all costing calculations, Timetables, gross profit reports, range, and quality control
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and work area
• Create and implement marketing and sales strategies to increase revenue Answer customer inquiries and resolve complaints in a timely and professional manner
• Collaborate with other departments and vendors to ensure smooth bakery operations

Skills and Experience QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 5 years’ experience required in a bakery or foodservice management role.
• Relevant hospitality management qualification
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Knowledge of baking techniques, recipes, and ingredients
• Understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as necessary
• Live in George area.
• Be prepared to work at weekends.
• Be bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
• Good computer literacy.
• Be both a leader and a team player.
