Banqueting Head Waiter (Sandton)

Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment is looking for an experienced Banqueting Head Waiter to join a busy 4-star hotel in Sandton. This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional who enjoys leading event service teams and ensuring every conference, function, and special event is delivered to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead the Banqueting team during conferences, functions, and events
• Ensure all event venues are set up according to function sheets and guest requirements
• Deliver exceptional food and beverage service throughout each event
• Brief and coordinate the Banqueting team before every function
• Monitor service standards and ensure guest satisfaction at all times
• Assist with staff training and the development of team members
• Ensure all equipment and function areas are clean, organised, and event-ready
• Work closely with the Kitchen, Events, and Food & Beverage teams to ensure seamless service
• Handle guest requests and resolve any service issues professionally
• Ensure health, safety, and hygiene standards are consistently maintained

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Banqueting Head Waiter, Banqueting Supervisor, or Senior Waiter within a hotel environment
• Experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel will be advantageous
• Strong leadership and team coordination skills
• Excellent food and beverage service knowledge
• Outstanding communication and guest service skills
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced events environment
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and evening functions
• Professional presentation and a passion for hospitality
