Kern doel van die pos:

Om volle verantwoordelikheid te neem vir die doeltreffende dag-tot-dagbestuur van OVK se Distribusiesentrum in Bloemfontein, met ‘n sterk fokus op dienslewering, voorraadbeheer, roete-uitvoering, mensebestuur, kostebeheer en verlies beperking.

Minimum Vereistes:

• Graad 12; ‘n toepaslike kwalifikasie in logistiek, voorsieningsketting, pakhuishouding of bestuur is ‘n sterk aanbeveling;
• Minstens 5 jaar toepaslike ondervinding in ‘n verspreidingsentrum, pakhuis of logistieke omgewing;
• Minstens 2 jaar ondervinding in ‘n toesighoudende of bestuursrol;
• Bewese ondervinding in roetebeplanning, voorraadbeheer, personeel- en vloot bestuur;
• Ondervinding in ‘n landbou-, kleinhandel- of FMCG-verspreidingsomgewing sal ‘n aanbeveling wees;
• Kennis van aankoopprosesse, begrotingsbeheer, beroepsgesondheid en veiligheid, sowel as toepaslike vervoervereistes sal ‘n aanbeveling wees;
• Goeie rekenaarvaardigheid en ervaring in AS400, voorraad- of pakhuisstelsels;
• Geldige rybewys en bereidwilligheid om buite normale ure beskikbaar te wees wanneer bedrywighede dit vereis.

Vaardighede:

• Sterk organisasie-, kommunikasie- en probleemoplossingsvermoë;
• Akkuraatheid, verantwoordbaarheid en die vermoë om onder operasionele druk te presteer;
• Diensgerigte ingesteldheid en goeie samewerking met interne rolspelers.

Verantwoordelikhede:

• Bestuur die Distribusiesentrum se daaglikse bedrywighede en verseker veilige, doeltreffende en koste-effektiewe uitvoering;
• Beplan en skeduleer afleweringsroetes; monitor nakoming van roetes, afsnytye en diensvlakke;
• Skakel deurlopend met groepaankopers en ander interne rolspelers oor voorraadbehoeftes, beskikbaarheid en prioriteite;
• Behartig aangewese aankope binne goedgekeurde beleid, begrotings, magtigings en voorraadparameters;
• Pas toepaslike operasionele, voorraad-, finansiële en sekuriteitskontroles toe en rapporteer afwykings;
• Bestuur personeel, drywers, prestasie, dissipline, opleiding, skofte en kapasiteitsbeplanning;
• Bestuur die vloot, insluitend voertuigbeskikbaarheid, lisensies, dienste, instandhouding, brandstofverbruik en inspeksies;
• Koördineer voorraadopnames en siklustellings; ondersoek en korrigeer voorraadverskille;
• Verseker netheid, orde, veilige stapeling en goeie huishouding in die pakhuis en werf;
• Bestuur terugsendings, eise en opvolgaksies tot finale afhandeling en beperk verliese, skade en verouderde voorraad.

Core purpose of position:

To take full responsibility for the efficient day-to-day management of OVK's Distribution Centre in Bloemfontein, with a strong focus on service delivery, inventory control, route execution, people management, cost control and loss limitation.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12; an appropriate qualification in logistics, supply chain, warehouse housekeeping, or management is a strong recommendation;
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or logistics environment;
• At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role;
• Proven experience in route planning, inventory control, personnel and fleet management;
• Experience in an agricultural, retail, or FMCG distribution environment will be a recommendation;
• Knowledge of purchasing processes, budget control, occupational health and safety, as well as applicable transportation requirements will be a recommendation;
• Good computer skills and experience in AS400, inventory or warehouse systems;
• Valid driver's license and willingness to be available outside normal hours when operations require it.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the Distribution Center's day-to-day operations and ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution;
• Plan and schedule delivery routes; monitor compliance with routes, cut-off times, and service levels;
• Continuously liaise with group buyers and other internal role players about inventory needs, availability and priorities;
• Manage designated purchases within approved policies, budgets, authorizations, and inventory parameters;
• Apply appropriate operational, inventory, financial, and security controls and report deviations;
• Managing staff, drivers, performance, discipline, training, shifts, and capacity planning;
• Manage the fleet, including vehicle availability, licenses, services, maintenance, fuel consumption, and inspections;
• Coordinate inventory surveys and cycle counts; investigate and correct inventory differences;
• Ensure cleanliness, order, safe stacking and good housekeeping in the warehouse and yard;
• Manage returns, claims, and follow-up actions to final settlement and limit losses, damage, and obsolete inventory.
