Job Description Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Boiler Maker for its Feedmill operations in the Agriculture division. The incumbent will be responsible for mechanically maintaining plant and equipment to ensure maximum availability and throughput for feed Production. This position reports directly to the Senior Fitter and holds the TASK Grade T10. The ideal candidate must be in possession of a Boiler Maker trade test and experience in feed milling equipment maintenance and utilization will be an advantage. A minimum of 3 years post qualification, hands-on mechanical maintenance experience is required, preferably in a feed mill.

Responsibilities

• Attend to mechanical breakdowns.
• Carry out preventative maintenance.
• Adhere to all Health & Safety Regulations.
• Report all unsafe working conditions.
• Complete all job cards.
• Ensure good housekeeping.
• Attend to boiler and compressor.
• Attend to call-outs.

• Take initiative and do things without being prompted.
• Must be highly adaptable to changes in the working environment at all times.
• Must have a hands-on approach.
• Excellent communication skills.
• The attitude and behaviour of the individual must contribute to team success.
• Be a team player.
• Have a valid driver’s license and their own vehicle.
