Job description
A well-established market and industry leader in Industrial Engineering & Steelworks requires candidates for our MerSETA apprenticeships for 2027.
Core Entry Requirements
- Education : Grade 12 or N2/N3 certificate is required.
- Compulsory Subjects : N2 or N3 certificates must include Mathematics, Engineering Science, Platers Theory/Trade Theory, and Technical Drawing or Mechanotechnology.
- NCV Level : NCV Level 3 or 4 Engineering Certificate with relevant trade subjects is also accepted.
- Physical Ability : Must be physically fit to handle heavy work, loud environments, and high-heat conditions.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional manufacturing skills, troubleshooting abilities, and knowledge of welding, electrical equipment, and liquid pressure systems.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Accuracy in cutting, welding, and assembling metal components.
Duration : Apprenticeships are undertaken in 4 years, with a minimum of 80–85 weeks of practical, on-the-job training.
Medical Exam : A medical certificate is required.
Training Components : Apprentices must pass all necessary modular tests (Competency Based Modular Training - CBMT).
