Job description
We are looking for a highly skilled Boilermaker to join upcoming petrochemical projects across South Africa and Namibia. This role ensures that all fabrication and assembly work meets the highest quality, safety, and operational standards while supporting project deliverables in high-risk industrial environments such as fuel storage depots and refineries.

Responsibilities
- Fabricate structures according to detailed technical drawings
- Fabricate piping in accordance with isometric drawings
- Ensure accurate assembly and installation of fabricated structures and piping
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and compliance in all activities
- Collaborate with team members, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve project goals
- Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with site regulations
- Follow all safety protocols, HSE procedures, and ISO/QCP guidelines
- Report deviations, non-conformances, and potential hazards promptly
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Quality: Accuracy of fabricated structures and piping; number of defects or reworks.
- Schedule Adherence: Completion of tasks within planned timeframes.
- Safety Compliance: Compliance with HSE procedures and safe working practices; incidents/near-misses.
- Efficiency: Output per shift, fit-up time, and installation speed.
- Reporting: Timely communication of hazards, deviations, work progress, and non-conformances
Requirements Qualifications
- Recognised Red-Seal certification in Boilermaking
- Strong understanding of Permit-to-Work Systems
- Valid Working at Heights training certificate
- Valid Confined Space Entry training certificate
- Valid driver's license
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Boilermaker in industrial or petrochemical environments.
- Previous experience at a fuel storage depot or refinery is strongly preferred
- Prior experience in high-risk industrial environments (e.g., tank repair, refurbishment, fabrication, and piping installation)
- Cross-functional experience coordinating with scaffolding, painting, civil, QA/QC, and safety teams
Knowledge & Skills Technical Knowledge:
- Expertise in boilermaking, pipefitting, and industrial fabrication techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical and isometric drawings.
- Knowledge of tank refurbishment, repair, and structural assembly/installation.
- Familiarity with ISO-compliant QCPs, safety protocols, and HSE procedures.
Cross-Functional Knowledge:
- Construction and project workflows.
- Awareness of mechanical, civil, painting, and electrical safety risks.
Skills:
- Strong communication.
- Legal and client-specific SHEQ compliance.
- Investigative mindset and attention to detail.
- Conflict management and team motivation.
- Time management, integrity, and professionalism
