Job description
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have solid bookkeeping and accounting experience.
Key Responsibilities
Core Bookkeeping Duties
- Recording financial transactions including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments
- Managing accounts payable and ensuring supplier invoices are paid on time
- Managing accounts receivable, invoicing customers, and following up on outstanding payments
- Performing bank and credit card reconciliations
- Monitoring and tracking cash flow
Financial Reporting Support
- Preparing trial balances
- Generating monthly financial reports (profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Maintaining the general ledger
- Supporting year-end closing and assisting the accountant or auditor
Payroll & Tax Support
- Processing payroll and expense reimbursements
- Tracking VAT / sales tax
- Preparing accurate data for tax submissions (non-complex)
Administration & Compliance
- Maintaining well-organized and compliant financial records
- Managing receipts, invoices, and supporting documentation
- Assisting during audits with clear and traceable records
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping (essential)
- Proven experience in a bookkeeping or accounts role
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: R15 000,00 - R20 000,00 per month
