POSITION INFO: Work Arrangement Hybrid working environment with 2 days per week working from home which will change by the end of the year to full time work at the office. About the Role We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The successful candidate will support the financial administration of a group of seven companies and work closely with senior members of the finance team. This role is ideally suited to a hands-on finance professional with solid bookkeeping experience who is looking to grow their career within a professional and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities Bookkeeping Full bookkeeping function up to trial balance. Processing and reconciliation of bank accounts. Accounts payable and accounts receivable administration. General ledger maintenance and reconciliations. Processing journals and month-end procedures. Assisting with the preparation of management accounts. Payroll Processing payroll using Sage Payroll. Maintaining employee payroll records. Ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance. Statutory Compliance Preparation and submission of VAT returns. Preparation and submission of EMP201 returns. General SARS eFiling administration and submissions. Assisting with compliance-related financial requirements. General Finance Administration Assisting with financial reporting requirements. Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation. Liaising with management and external service providers where required. Supporting the finance team across multiple entities. Minimum Requirements Bookkeeping Certificate or equivalent qualification. 3-5 years'''' bookkeeping experience. Proven experience in a multi-company or SME environment. Practical experience using Pastel Accounting (essential). Experience processing payroll using Sage Payroll. Experience with SARS eFiling, including VAT and EMP submissions. Experience assisting with the preparation of management accounts. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Experience Experience working across multiple companies\/entities. Exposure to month-end reporting processes. Reporting Structure The successful candidate will form part of a three-person finance team responsible for the financial administration of seven companies.
