Job description
Flexweb (Pty) Ltd is looking for an experienced and detail-driven Bookkeeper to take ownership of the day-to-day financial administration of the business. This role suits someone who works accurately, meets deadlines without reminders, and is comfortable working independently.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger and bookkeeping to trial balance
- Process supplier invoices, creditors and debtors, and follow up on outstanding accounts
- Perform monthly bank, creditor and debtor reconciliations
- Prepare and submit VAT returns (VAT201) and monthly payroll submissions (EMP201), including bi-annual EMP501 reconciliations
- Process monthly payroll and manage UIF, SDL and COIDA compliance
- Prepare monthly management accounts and assist with cash flow reporting
- Liaise with external auditors and accountants and prepare year-end files
- Maintain accurate and well-organised financial records
Minimum requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- A relevant qualification in bookkeeping or accounting (e.g. ICB, National Diploma in Accounting, or equivalent)
- At least 10 years' experience in a full-function bookkeeping role
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Xero, Pastel or QuickBooks
- Working knowledge of SARS requirements, VAT and payroll legislation
- Intermediate to advanced MS Excel
- Own reliable transport and a valid driver's licence
Advantageous
- Membership of a professional body (e.g. SAIBA or ICB)
