Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant***, Urgently Required***

Location: Finance Department (Centurion)

Reports to: Finance Manager

Job Summary:

The Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant manages and supports the company’s daily financial operations. This includes record-keeping, reporting, processing transactions and payments, and ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. The role also assists the Finance Manager in budgeting and financial planning and helps maintain the general ledger.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full accounting function up to management accounts.
• Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and control accounts.
• Handle payments, receipts, and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Import reports from external systems into the accounting system and bank.
• Oversee debtors and creditors (reconciliations, payments, follow-ups).
• Record daily transactions, prepare and process journals.
• Assist in calculating VAT, EMP201, EMP501, etc.
• Process payroll and assist with payroll administration.
• Maintain the fixed asset register.
• Assist with internal and external financial reporting.
• Perform other reasonable ad-hoc tasks as needed.

Key Requirements:

• Experience in financial services is an advantage.
• Strong verbal and written communication in both English & Afrikaans.
• Proficiency in Excel (advanced), Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to build professional relationships.
• Skilled in problem-solving and issue resolution.
• Experience with general ledger, month-end processes, and accounts receivable/payable.
• Hands-on experience managing full accounting functions.
• Knowledge of Sage Evolution or at least 3 years in Pastel or similar financial software.
• Knowledge of Payspace is advantageous.
• Self-motivated, responsible, and able to take initiative.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work extra hours when necessary.

Pay: R20 000,00 - R25 000,00 per month

Experience:

• Bookkeeping / Accounting: 3 years (Required)

Language:

• English and Afrikaans (Required)

License/Certification:

• Qualification in Accounting or related field (Required)
