Motus Daimler Trucks Airport currently has a vacancy for a Bookkeeper reporting directly to the Manager: Finance**.**

About the Role

As a Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of accounting processes. This position focuses on managing day-to-day financial transactions, account reconciliations, and reporting, supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and bank reconciliations.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices.
• Assist in monthly closings and the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Monitor and reconcile bank and credit card statements regularly to ensure accuracy.
• Daily reconciliation of bank clearing accounts
• Management of petty cash cards
• Perform Monthly Bank & Till account reconciliations
• Follow up & clear reconciling items on the Bank & Till account recons
• Stationery Management
• Grocery Management
• FIC reporting
• Sustainability reporting
• Monthly management expenses report
• Assist with first aid

Requirements

• Proven track record in bookkeeping or accounting, with demonstrable experience using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with various stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications* Matric/NQF Level 4 equivalent qualification

• A relevant qualification in accounting or finance (e.g., Diploma in Accounting, BCom Accounting).
• 3 years’ experience working in a similar role within a specific industry (e.g., retail, Automotive).
• Knowledge of local tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with additional accounting software is advantageous (Keridge).
