Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for an experienced Part-Time QBO Bookkeeper to join and support a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys making a meaningful impact while working with a mission-driven organization. In this role, you will manage key day-to-day financial activities, including Accounts Payable and Receivable, expense reconciliations, employee reimbursements, month-end close support, audit preparation, and compliance-related accounting activities. You will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth financial operations using QuickBooks Online. If you have previous experience supporting nonprofit organizations, strong QBO expertise, and knowledge of California nonprofit accounting and tax requirements, this flexible part-time opportunity offers the chance to use your skills to support an organization making a difference.

Requirements Previous experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably supporting 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations Experience working with California-based nonprofit organizations is preferred Strong proficiency and hands-on experience using QuickBooks Online (QBO) Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and financial compliance Familiarity with California state tax requirements Experience managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience with account reconciliations, expense processing, and employee reimbursements Experience supporting month-end close activities Ability to assist with audit preparation and supporting documentation Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal Must be available to work approximately 10:00 AM–2:00 PM Pacific Time Open to candidates globally

Responsibilities Manage and maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online (QBO) Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes Process and reconcile business expenses and employee reimbursements Perform monthly account reconciliations and support month-end close activities Prepare and maintain financial documentation for audits Assist with compliance-related accounting activities and reporting Support accounting processes related to California nonprofit and state tax requirements Ensure financial records are accurate, organized, and up to date Provide general bookkeeping and financial administration support to the nonprofit organization
