Job Description
Civet Media is a UK-based healthcare marketing agency looking for a reliable, detail-oriented bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial records across multiple UK entities.
This is a fully remote contractor role suited to someone confident using Xero and working with UK businesses.
You’ll be responsible for keeping the books accurate, reconciled, and well organised so leadership and accountants can rely on clean financial data.
Responsibilities
- Categorise transactions accurately in Xero
- Maintain clean and consistent financial records
- Reconcile bank accounts (GBP)
- Reconcile credit cards, Wise, and online payments
- Maintain supplier bills and payable records
- Record incoming payments where required
- Ensure books are tidy and reconciled each month
Payroll Support
- Post payroll journals into Xero
- Maintain payroll records and documentation
- Record sick pay, holiday and salary adjustments
- Reconcile payroll totals to reports
Requirements
- Strong experience using Xero (required)
- Experience supporting UK-based businesses
- Comfortable working with GBP accounts
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong written English
- Ability to work independently in a remote role
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with agencies or multi-entity businesses
- Familiar with Wise, Dext, and Xero is essential
- Experience cleaning up or improving bookkeeping systems
Role Details
- Part-time contractor role. 6–8 hrs/week
- Fully remote
- Overlap with UK working hours preferred
- $7 per hour paid monthly
