Job description

Apple Storage in Ferndale Randburg - is looking for an inhouse Bookkeeper / Administrator for our busy storage facility.

Duties & Responsibilities

Recording Financial Transactions – Sales, purchases, bank transactions, cash transactions (petty cash)

Managing Accounts Payable - Entering supplier invoices, tracking due dates and making payments, reconciling supplier statements

Managing Accounts Receivable - Creating and sending customer invoices, recording customer payments, following up on overdue accounts

Bank Reconciliation

Maintaining the General Ledger

Tax Compliance Support - Calculating and recording VAT, preparing for income tax submissions, keep supporting documents for audits, calculating and recording PAYE / UIF

Financial Reporting

Administrative and Operational Oversight - Maintaining company records, licences, and statutory registrations, scheduling and supporting internal operational meetings, coordinating premises-related tasks, ensuring workflow integration across departments, overseeing the day-to-day functioning of the business operations and supporting strategic initiatives

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Matric certificate
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Business Administration (advantageous)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role (administration & bookkeeping)
  • Proficient in SARS calculations & submissions, VAT / PAYE / EMP501
  • Proficient in accounting software such as Pastel & SAGE
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong numerical ability and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential information
  • Fluent in English - spoken & written (Afrikaans is an advantage)
  • Valid drivers license and vehicle essential
  • Sober habits
  • Must reside in the area
