Bookkeeper/Office Manager

South Beach Camps Bay, a distinguished 5-star hotel, is seeking to appoint an experienced Bookkeeper and Office Manager to oversee its financial administration, office operations, and procurement functions.

This position calls for a meticulous, highly organised professional capable of managing the full bookkeeping function while ensuring the efficient day-to-day administration of the hotel's back-of-house operations. The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting the hotel's financial integrity and operational efficiency.

We are seeking a candidate who will uphold these same standards across the hotel's administrative and financial functions.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Owner and/or Financial Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the following key areas at South Beach Camps Bay:

Bookkeeping and Financial Administration

● Managing the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance

● Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable

● Performing bank and account reconciliations

● Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports

● Ensuring accurate and timely VAT submissions, and liaising with external auditors and accountants

● Administering payroll processes in accordance with company policy

Office Management

● Overseeing the efficient day-to-day administration of the hotel office

● Maintaining accurate staff records, filing systems, and compliance documentation

● Facilitating clear communication and coordination between departments

● Managing correspondence, contracts, and general administrative matters

Procurement

● Managing the purchase order process and reconciling supplier invoices

● Maintaining oversight of stock levels and inventory control in conjunction with relevant department heads

● Establishing and maintaining supplier relationships that ensure consistent quality and cost efficiency

Requirements

● A relevant Diploma or Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Financial Management

● A minimum of 3–5 years' bookkeeping experience, preferably within the hospitality industry

● Proficiency in Xero accounting software is essential

● Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

● Prior exposure to procurement or supplier management would be advantageous

● A high level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail

● Proven ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment

● Strong written and verbal communication skills

● A high degree of discretion and integrity in handling confidential information

● Preference will be given to candidates residing on the Atlantic Seaboard or within a 15km radius of Camps Bay

Pay: From R20 000,00 per month
