Race Coast is seeking a Broadcast Production Lead who will oversee the day-to-day operational execution of Gallop TV’s broadcast activities in KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth running of live race day broadcasts, studio operations, crew coordination, production logistics, and broadcast quality standards across all Gallop TV productions in the region.
The successful candidate will also lead broadcast operations in a fast-paced live production environment while maintaining high production standards, operational efficiency, and team coordination.

What You'll Do
Broadcast Operations & Department Management
- Oversee the general day-to-day running of the Gallop TV Television Department in KwaZulu-Natal.
- Ensure the smooth operational delivery of all live broadcasts, studio productions, and ENG shoots.
- Support the Head of Broadcast Production in maintaining production standards and operational efficiency.
- Ensure Gallop TV operations run smoothly seven days a week.
Crew Scheduling & Production Coordination
- Schedule and oversee broadcast, studio, technical, and production crews for race days, studio productions, and special broadcasts.
- Manage venue call times and crew logistics.
- Arrange rigging and de-rigging requirements for race day and outside broadcast venues.
- Coordinate production schedules and resource allocation to ensure seamless execution.
- Ensure appropriate backup coverage is always available for production teams and producers.
Live Broadcast Execution & Quality Control
- Supervise studio crews, production teams, and broadcast crews during live productions.
- Ensure all broadcasts meet Gallop TV production and technical standards.
- Monitor on-air quality control and resolve operational issues in real time.
- Work closely with the Head of Technical Broadcast to ensure all technical specifications align with production requirements.
- Identify and implement solutions in high-pressure live outside broadcast environments.
Broadcast Partner & Stakeholder Liaison
- Liaise with external broadcasters and partners including SABC and SuperSport on major race days and special productions.
- Coordinate with internal department heads to ensure broadcast requirements and production requests are delivered effectively.
- Ensure all sponsor, commercial, and event integration requirements are communicated and executed within broadcasts.
Logistics, Equipment & Venue Management
- Responsible for coordinating vehicle bookings and logistics for ENG shoots, race days, and production teams.
- Oversee the hiring and management of additional production equipment for major race days and special broadcasts.
- Ensure all production and broadcast equipment is properly maintained, secured, and accounted for.
· Monitor venue readiness and operational setup for all broadcast activities.
Post-Production Oversight
- Responsible for reviewing and quality checking all edited content, race cuts, highlights, and post-production material before publication or broadcast.
- Ensure timely turnaround and delivery of broadcast and digital content.
· Maintain high editorial and technical standards across all published content.
Compliance, SOPs & Safety
- Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are implemented and consistently followed.
- Maintain safe working practices across all production environments.
- Ensure all crew members operate within a safe and compliant working environment.
- Escalate operational risks, production concerns, or potential broadcast issues to executive management where required.
What You’ll Need
- Diploma or degree in Broadcast Production, Television, Media, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in live broadcast production or television operations.
- Strong experience in live sports or outside broadcast environments.
- Proven experience coordinating multi-camera productions and production crews.
· Understanding of broadcast workflows, technical production requirements, and live event operations.
