ABOUT THE PROGRAMME: Scania is proud to launch its 2026 BSO Programme for newly qualified Diesel Technicians. This programme is designed to fast-track talented young technicians into a structured, hands-on development pathway — combining real-world workshop exposure with mentorship, technical training, and career progression opportunities.
We are looking for driven, disciplined, and mechanically passionate individuals who completed their diesel trade qualification in 2026 and are ready to build a meaningful career in the commercial vehicle and trucking sector.
Minimum Requirements
- Completed and qualified Diesel Mechanic / Diesel Technician trade in 2026
- Aged between 18 and 35 years at time of application
- South African citizen or permanent resident (nationwide applications welcome)
- Valid South African ID document
- National Senior Certificate (Matric)
- Physically fit and able to work in a workshop environment
- Willingness to relocate or travel if required by the programme
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a commitment to continuous learning
ADVANTAGEOUS (NOT ESSENTIAL): The following will strengthen your application, but are not a requirement to apply:
- Practical workshop exposure during or after your trade qualification
- Hands-on experience with Scania trucks, buses, or engines
- Familiarity with Scania diagnostic tools and service procedures
- Basic computer literacy (workshop management systems, digital job cards)
- A valid driver's licence (Code B or higher)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES DURING THE PROGRAMME:
- Perform diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work on diesel engines and related systems under supervision
- Follow Scania quality standards, safety protocols, and workshop procedures at all times
- Participate in structured technical training sessions and assessments
- Complete workshop job cards, service reports, and documentation accurately
- Work collaboratively with senior technicians and workshop staff
- Engage with Scania product training modules as provided during the programme
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment
