Building Maintenance Supervisor

BUILDINGS MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Mowana is looking to employ a Buildings Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the roving maintenance/ refurb team. This position reports to the Mowana Building & Facilities Manager. The successful incumbent will be expected to have working knowledge of and be able to maintain and repair, plumbing, ventilation and other building systems or consult with external parties. He/ She will be responsible for evaluating problematic systems or facilities and determining what installation or repair services need to be performed.

Key performance areas:

1. Maintain the exterior of the structures at Mowana Communities properties (units) in good condition.

2. Maintain the interior of units and structures as required, including matters related to burst geysers and other leaks.

3. Assist in the refurbishment of resale units in co-operation with the Housing Officer and contractors.

4. Manage the staff comprising in the mobile building maintenance team and where applicable to supervise /liaise with the contractors.

5. Keep the building maintenance vehicle in good working order, liaising & co-operating with other Mowana Supervisors in this regard.

6. Participate in the Health and Safety Committee.

7. Fulfil the required administrative duties for the position.

8. Carrying out any other activities as may be directed by the Building & Facilities Manager.

Minimum Educational Qualification:

Trade qualification in building related field.

Minimum experience: 5 years

Technical skills required:

· Required skills: thorough knowledge of painting and interior refurbishment, maintenance in the fields of construction, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and metal work.

· Ability to write reports, give input for budget.

· In possession of a valid driver’s licence
