Purpose of the role

Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the client's resilience programme – business continuity, disaster management, emergency preparedness and incident command – in the context of restructuring into new business units.

Key responsibilities

Assess resilience programme resources, capacity and capability after restructuring.
Review business impact analyses on critical processes (e.g. grid operations, market and settlement functions) and recovery objectives.
Review the development, testing and maintenance of business continuity plans, disaster recovery plans and disaster management plans.
Assess the implementation of the Incident Command System and emergency exercise programme.
Recommend resilience KPIs, a control-effectiveness method for continuity plans and the resilience elements of the roadmap.

Deliverables: Responsible for the resilience programme adequacy findings; contributes to the reporting framework and roadmap.

Minimum requirements (must meet)

Degree or diploma in a relevant discipline.
At least 10 years' business continuity or disaster management experience, including programme implementation.
ISO 22301 lead implementer or lead auditor.
Working knowledge of the Disaster Management Act 57 of 2002.
South African citizen or permanent resident.

Preferred requirements (strongly advantageous)

Business Continuity Institute certification (CBCI, MBCI or FBCI) or DRII CBCP.
Postgraduate qualification in disaster management or business continuity.
12+ years, including critical infrastructure (electricity, water, transport) and incident command (ICS / ISO 22320).
Experience designing and running crisis and emergency exercises at executive level.

Structured and evidence-based; clear communicator with executives and operational teams; able to deliver to tight deadlines within a multidisciplinary team; discreet with confidential information.

Pay: From R16 000,00 per day

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Pretoria, Gauteng
