Technology Station in Electronics (TSE)

The Department of Technology Stations in Electronics has a part-time Business Developer position at the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment on the Pretoria Campus.
INSTRUCTIONS: Applicants are required to submit, together with the CVs, a fully completed standardised application form available from the university’s intranet, as well as recently certified copies of qualifications and Identity Document. Failure to comply with this instruction will disqualify the candidate. Candidates may be subjected to appropriate psychometric testing and other selection instruments.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist in the business strategy development and implementation to drive the sustainability of the three Technology Stations,
- Conduct market research to identify business opportunities,
- Assist station management to develop annual business plans,
- Acquire new clients and partnerships (long-term) that drive sustainability,
- Set up and manage contractual agreements with external stakeholders,
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop proposals, pricing strategies, and presentations that align with client requirements,
- Assists in customer relationship management activities to drive sustainability goals,
- Regular reporting to supervisors on KPI achievement,
Requirements
- Diploma in either business, economics, entrepreneurship, commerce, marketing or related field.
- Proven experience of a minimum of 3 years in business development,
- South African applicants will receive preference.
- Valid driver’s license,
- Conducting market research and new client acquisitions,
- Development and implementation of strategic objectives and financial targets,
- Contract and client relationship negotiation and management,
- Reporting to stakeholders on Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
- Effective communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to think strategically and develop comprehensive plans,
- Project management, proposal writing, cost analysis and budgeting,
