Rongke Power (RKP) is a global leader in Vanadium Flow Battery (VFB) technology and Long-Duration Energy Storage (LDES). With over 4 GWh of deployed energy storage capacity worldwide, we provide innovative and reliable energy storage solutions for utilities, renewable energy developers, industrial customers, and grid operators.

As part of our international growth, we are expanding our commercial team in South Africa.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to develop utility-scale energy storage opportunities across South Africa. You will build strategic customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, and drive commercial growth in one of Africa's fastest-growing renewable energy markets.

Key Responsibilities

Develop new business opportunities for utility-scale BESS projects.
Build relationships with utilities, IPPs, EPC contractors, renewable energy developers, and industrial customers.
Manage the sales process from opportunity identification through contract negotiation.
Prepare commercial proposals and support tender submissions.
Monitor market trends and identify strategic growth opportunities.
Work closely with technical and project teams to deliver successful customer solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
8–10 years of business development or sales experience in renewable energy, power, or energy storage.
Proven experience in utility-scale BESS or related energy solutions.
Strong network within the South African renewable energy market.
Excellent commercial negotiation and communication skills.
Fluent in English and willing to travel as required.
