About the Opportunity

PAWA Africa is recruiting three Business Development Representatives to drive outreach, lead generation and customer acquisition among small and medium-sized businesses. This is a sales-focused, target-driven role suited to confident communicators who can identify prospective customers, present a clear value proposition, manage follow-ups and convert qualified leads into completed registrations. Success will be measured by the quality of the sales pipeline and the number of eligible businesses successfully onboarded.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and prospect suitable small and medium-sized businesses through direct outreach, referrals, professional networks and business communities.
• Generate new leads through telephone calls, email, WhatsApp, online engagement, networking and approved outreach activities.
• Present approved service information and communicate the value proposition clearly, confidently and accurately.
• Qualify prospective customers against the communicated criteria and prioritise high-potential opportunities.
• Convert qualified leads into completed registrations and support prospective customers through the initial onboarding process.
• Manage a structured sales pipeline and follow up consistently with interested and incomplete prospects.
• Meet agreed weekly and monthly outreach, conversion and customer-acquisition targets.
• Maintain accurate lead records, contact notes, pipeline statuses and sales progress reports.
• Gather customer and market feedback to support the improvement of outreach and sales approaches.
• Represent PAWA Africa professionally, protect customer information and avoid making unapproved promises or guarantees.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in sales, marketing, business management, entrepreneurship, communications or a related field is preferred.
• One to three years of experience in sales, business development, customer acquisition, lead generation, telesales or field sales.
• A demonstrated ability to meet sales, outreach, conversion or customer-acquisition targets.
• Experience engaging entrepreneurs, small businesses, business associations or professional networks will be advantageous.
• Strong prospecting, relationship-building, presentation, persuasion and objection-handling skills.
• Confidence communicating with customers by telephone, email, WhatsApp and virtual meeting platforms.
• Ability to manage a sales pipeline, maintain accurate records and follow up consistently.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets, online forms and shared digital tools; experience using a CRM will be advantageous.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and remain accountable for agreed targets.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in additional South African languages will be advantageous.

Pay: R15 000,00 - R20 000,00 per month
