  • Educational Qualifications: Relevant diploma or degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Work Experience: 8 to 10 years of relevant HR experience, including 1 to 3 years of line management responsibility.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in retail HR is advantageous.
  • HR Expertise: Strong capability in partnering with business and HR stakeholders to drive organizational goals.
  • HR Processes: Comprehensive understanding of the HR lifecycle and associated people management practices.
  • Leadership and Coaching: Proven skills in coaching, providing constructive feedback, and managing change and transformation initiatives.
  • Conflict Management: Ability to effectively resolve conflicts within teams and across departments.
  • Planning and Prioritization: Excellent skills in planning, prioritizing tasks, and managing workload to meet deadlines.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Competence in people-related financial reporting and data analysis.
  • Regional Expertise and Mobility: Knowledge of Sub-Saharan labor laws, risk management, and benefits administration, with willingness to travel within the region as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic People Partnership:
    • Translate business strategy into people priorities and practical HR solutions.
    • Advise senior leaders on workforce, talent and organisational matters that support business objectives.
    • Develop future-focused solutions informed by business operations, strategy and priorities.
  • Planning, Programmes and Governance:
    • Develop HR plans and budgets aligned to the needs of the supported business.
    • Lead HR projects and ensure effective delivery against agreed outcomes.
    • Develop and implement workforce and talent plans that enable business performance.
    • Advise on the design and implementation of HR programmes, ensuring they remain relevant to business.Ensure HR structures, practices and solutions are sustainable, relevant and fit for purpose.
    • Support the HR Leadership Team in shaping and delivering the HR strategic plan.
  • Leadership, Culture and Change:
    • Champion organisational values and culture across the business.
    • Coach and develop business leaders on people-related matters.
    • Lead, guide and manage HR Business Advisors to support effective delivery.
    • Identify business needs and lead organisational change initiatives that enable transformation.
    • Coordinate Centre of Excellence resources to implement HR solutions that address the business’s distinctive challenges.
