Business Intelligence Developer

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to Develop, deploy, maintain and support trusted business intelligence and data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, PySpark, Spark SQL and T-SQL. The role converts business requirements into governed data products, semantic models, dashboards and reports that provide reliable information for operational and strategic decision-making.

Requirements -

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering or a relevant field.
• Grade 12
• An equivalent combination of relevant qualifications and demonstrable BI development experience may be considered.
• Four (4) to six (6) years of professional experience in business intelligence, analytics or data development.
• Proven hands-on experience developing production solutions with Power BI and T-SQL.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric and PySpark or Spark SQL in data ingestion and transformation workloads.
• Experience managing or supporting relational databases and troubleshooting data, query and performance issues.
• Experience working through the full solution lifecycle: requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, documentation and support.
• · Microsoft Fabric: Data Factory pipelines, Dataflow Gen2, notebooks, Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake and deployment practices.
• PySpark and Spark SQL for scalable data preparation, transformation and validation.
• Advanced T-SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, views, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Power BI, including Power Query, dimensional modelling, DAX, semantic models, row-level security and report performance optimisation.
• Database management fundamentals, including relational design, security, indexing, monitoring, backup and recovery concepts.
• Data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modelling, star schemas, slowly changing dimensions and medallion architecture.
• ETL and ELT design patterns, orchestration, incremental loading, error handling, audit logging and data reconciliation.
• DevOps and source control practices for versioning, peer review, release management and controlled deployment.
• Data governance principles, including data quality, metadata, lineage, access control and protection of sensitive information.
