What are we looking for?

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to support our procurement operations, ensure timely sourcing of materials, and contribute to the efficiency of our supply chain.

What do we expect from the candidate?

Motivated Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to our procurement and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, excellent observation and analytical abilities and a proactive approach to sourcing and vendor management.

The key responsibilities:

• Find and evaluate potential suppliers.
• Place/Process orders with suppliers both local and foreign.
• Manage all aspects of imports.
• Monitor progress with shipments concerning ETDs, ETA’s for all orders together with inland logistics.
• Build and manage supplier relationships.
• Keep abreast with market trends.
• Monitor and resolve price variance queries related to suppliers.
• Compile product specification sheets and material safety data sheets.
• Plan and maintain optimum stock levels in conjunction with the sales team and operations.
• Prepare Monthly reports for various management meetings.
• Prepare monthly costing.
• Report all non-conformances within the job spec immediately.
• Ensure all purchasing requirements are met.
• Expedite purchase orders and report any delays immediately.
• Ensure company objectives are met through responsible purchasing in BBBEE accredited suppliers.
• Manage indent and Forex.
• Source quality products at competitive prices both local and international.
• Regularly update internal stakeholders with external factors concerning supply issues.
• Updating delivery schedules.
• Research pricing and getting quotation locally on low value items.
• Assisting with planned monthly stock takes.
• Continuous supplier evaluation.
• Requesting and updating latest supplier certificates.
• Updating drum schedules and order.
• Control and issue gate pass for removal of company resources off site.
• Follow any instruction received by line manager, based on reasonable instruction.

If you possess…

Must-Have:

• Grade 12/Matric.
• Diploma/Degree in supply chain management/ Procurement.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent computer literacy skills.
• 3 to 5 years relevant experience in supply chain /procurement.
• Microsoft D365 will be an added advantage.
