Buyer (Wholesale & Retail FMCG)

Job description:

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to manage product procurement, supplier relationships, inventory levels, and category performance within our wholesale and retail FMCG environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving sales growth, profitability, and stock efficiency while ensuring products are available to meet customer demand.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and procure products in line with business requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, supplier agreements, rebates, and trading terms.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Manage stock levels to ensure product availability and minimize stock losses.
• Analyze sales, margins, inventory, and market trends.
• Assist with promotional and seasonal buying programmes.
• Forecast demand and monitor category performance.
• Identify new products and suppliers to support business growth.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and commercial agreements.
• Prepare reports and recommendations to improve profitability and stock efficiency**.**

Minimum Requirements:

• Relevant qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Commerce, Retail Management, or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years' buying experience in an FMCG, wholesale, or retail environment.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Sound knowledge of inventory and category management.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and achieve business objectives.
