Job Title : Bulk Vehicle Operator (Multi Petroleum Products)

Purpose of the role:

We have an opportunity for a seasoned Bulk Vehicle Operator in our operation. This is not only a Safety Critical role that requires an experienced person, but also a key stakeholder in our business deliverables and a Wasaa ambassador of thereof.

A Bulk Vehicle operator is responsible for delivering our various petrochemical / petroleum products by road to our various clients, as per the Wasaa prescribed Standard Operating Procedures and the relevant country laws that govern our industry. These products include but not limited to, Liquid Petroleum Gas (primarily), Diesel, LSR, Petrol and Sulphuric Acid.

Requirements:

· Grade 12 (Matric)

· 5 Years experience of heavy-duty vehicle (EC) driving experience (combined 3 years of which must be LPG, Diesel, LSR and Sulphuric Acid) by road.

· A valid Code (EC) Driving License and PrDP (with a Category D classification)

· A valid South African Passport, and experience on Cross border deliveries in the SADC region.

· A valid Dangerous Goods Transportation and handling Certificate from an accredited academy

· Competency on Defensive Driving, Fire Fighting, First Aid and Spill Containment certificates will be an added advantage.

Key Competencies:

· Ability to follow instructions from the Dispatch Office and client sites.

· Ability to assess risk and constraints that may pose a risk to self, Wasaa asset*/s*, third parties around your vehicle and the environment.

· Be a reasonably mechanically-sound person who is able to inspect the bulk vehicle, identify and/or report defects, delivery constraints and breakdowns timeously and accurately.

· Ensuring that the all Loading, Driving and Unloading operations are conducted in accordance with related safety regulation, Wasaa policies and Country laws.

· Complete the Delivery Documents correctly, accurately and in full for easy collection of the trip data by the relevant Admin offices.

· Have no serious phobia or medical condition that may prevent you from fully executing the BVO responsibilities.

· Report and justify excessive losses, gains timeously and manage the time effectively while avoiding unplanned / unauthorized stops.

· Politely and assertively communicate with the clients / their representative as a Wasaa Representative.

· Be able to make safety critical decisions, execution and familiar with the Bulk Road Petro-Road Tanker Operation and equipment for the above listed various products.
