Sanlam Risk and Savings (SRS), which is one of the businesses within SLS, offers Risk and Savings solutions to various segments within the market. What will you do?
Become part of a team with technical curiosity, problem‑solving mindset, and passion for clean, efficient, scalable code to deliver robust solutions across various application types, including web services, desktop applications, and APIs, while collaborating with teams to meet project requirements and deadlines.
As a C# Developer, you will be responsible for the following:
- Partner with dynamic project and BAU teams from concept and technical design all the way to deployment—shaping solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and built to last.
- Own and manage code repositories with GitHub, championing best‑practice version control.
- Dive into change requests, analyse requirements, and shape smart, forward‑thinking solutions.
- Provide expert recommendations and clear effort estimates to guide decision‑making.
- Build, test, and refine your own programs or artefacts to ensure exceptional quality.
- Collaborate closely with integrated systems through thorough interface testing.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and solve complex technical challenges with confidence.
- Empower the Testers with the information they need to validate top‑quality releases.
- Take responsibility for implementing enhancements into Production with precision and care.
- Keep system and program documentation up to date.
- Maintain and evolve data model documentation as the environment grows.
- Lead with curiosity by performing root cause analysis and providing functional support to users.
- Share expertise and offer technical guidance to the team working with the systems or programs.
- Step in to provide standby or after‑hours support when required, to keep critical operations running smoothly. What will make you successful in this role?
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Information Systems
Experience
- At least 5 years’ experience working with software applications using the C# programming language within the .NET framework.
- Relevant experience in the following:
- Database technologies (SQL Server, etc.) and microservices architecture
- Front-end frameworks (React) and testing frameworks (e.g. NUnit, MSTest etc.)
- Application monitoring and observability tools
- Agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban)
- Exposure to C++ and DevOps will be an advantage
- Experience within the Financial Services industry will be an advantage
Knowledge
- Solid understanding in C#, the .NET Framework and Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP)
- Knowledge of web development concepts HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Knowledge of software design patterns and engineering best practices
- Knowledge of core AWS services, cloud-native applications, and cloud-based applications
- Basic understanding of UML (Class, Activity, Entity Relation Diagrams)
