Carwash Supervisor

Position Summary : SUPERVISOR

The Operations Supervisor supports the Site Manager in ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality operations across the car wash and on-site coffee shop. This role focuses on day-to-day supervision of staff, maintaining operational standards, monitoring performance, and assisting in achieving sales and membership targets. The Operations Supervisor acts as the Site Manager’s right hand, stepping in to lead the site in their absence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Operations

• Manage sales revenue and wash count targets
• Perform site audits
• Supervise daily activities across wash bays, vacuum areas, and coffee shop.
• Ensure equipment is clean, functional, and operated safely.
• Conduct shift checks to maintain wash quality and service standards.
• Monitor consumable stock levels and alert the Site Manager for replenishment.
• Coordinate with maintenance providers for repairs when required.

2. Staff Supervision & Support

• Lead and motivate staff during shifts, ensuring high productivity and teamwork.
• Allocate tasks, oversee performance, and provide on-the-spot training.
• Monitor adherence to safety, hygiene, and operational procedures.
• Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
• Conduct weekly meetings
• Conduct monthly one on one sessions

3. Customer Service & Sales Support

• Engage with customers to ensure a positive service experience.
• Assist in resolving customer concerns or complaints promptly.
• Promote upsells, value-added services, and coffee shop specials.
• Support membership sign-ups for The Car Wash Club.
• Promote customer signup for the Bulldog Rewards programme

4. Performance & Financial Support

• Manage stock levels and order replenishment
• Monitor daily wash counts, coffee shop sales, and shift payment handling.
• Identify areas for sales improvement, expense management, efficiency improvement and waste reduction.
• Report operational issues or performance concerns to the Site Manager.

5. Administration & Reporting

• Provide operational feedback at weekly site meetings
• Record sales and payment events, shift activities, incidents, and sales data onto the Bulldog Operations System
• Maintain time and attendance records for staff during shifts.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and brand guidelines.

Key Requirements

Experience:

• 1–2 years in a supervisory role within retail, hospitality, or automotive services.
• Experience in customer-facing environments essential.

Education:

• Matric certificate minimum; business or hospitality-related qualification advantageous.

Licences:

• Valid driver’s licence required; own vehicle advantageous.

Skills:

• Strong people leadership and communication skills.
• Customer-focused with problem-solving ability.

· Excellent English communication (verbal & written)

• Organised and able to manage multiple tasks at once.
• Competent with POS systems and basic reporting.
• Computer literacy and understanding of how AI can improve the business
• Use of Microsoft Office applications

• Hands-on and proactive.
• High attention to detail and quality standards.
• Flexible and willing to work weekends/public holidays.

Working Hours

Full-time, including weekends and public holidays, on a 5-day roster aligned to operational needs.

Remuneration

Market-related salary, based on experience.

Pay: R5 500,00 - R8 000,00 per month
