CATERING MANAGER VACANCY
Location: Durban – Call Centre Canteen

An established catering company is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and experienced Catering Manager to oversee the daily operations of a busy call centre canteen in Durban.

This position is ideal for an individual who is passionate about food, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has the leadership skills to ensure exceptional food quality, customer service, and operational efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in the hospitality or catering industry.
• A genuine passion for food and delivering excellent customer service.
• Sound knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety legislation, and best practices.
• The ability to manage food costs and work effectively within a budget.
• Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
• A willingness to work flexible and extended hours when operationally required.
• Computer literacy and being able to work well with Microsoft Office
• The ability to start immediately or within a short notice period.
• A valid driver's licence and own reliable transport will be advantageous.
• A Chef qualification or relevant hospitality qualification will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the canteen.
• Ensure consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and customer service.
• Manage and motivate kitchen and service staff.
• Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and food safety regulations.
• Monitor stock levels, control food costs, and minimise waste.
• Plan menus and ensure meals are prepared and served according to company standards.
• Liaise with management and clients to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Achieve set targets for budgets and hygiene audits
• Client / Customer Liasion

Remuneration

A competitive salary package will be offered and is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
