HOTEL DRIVER / GUEST SERVICES

Location: The Saint James on Venice – Morningside, DurbanPosition: Full-Time

The Saint James on Venice is looking for a professional, reliable and well-presented Hotel Driver / Guest Services Assistant to join our team.

As one of the first and last members of our team that guests may interact with, the successful candidate must be friendly, punctual, trustworthy and committed to providing excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional airport transfers and guest transportation.
• Transport guests safely to restaurants, meetings, attractions, events and other requested destinations.
• Welcome and assist guests with luggage on arrival and departure.
• Assist with hotel collections, deliveries, purchasing and other operational errands.
• Ensure the hotel vehicle is kept clean, presentable and ready for guests at all times.
• Conduct basic daily vehicle checks including tyres, fuel, oil and general vehicle condition.
• Report any vehicle maintenance requirements, damage or mechanical issues immediately.
• Keep accurate records of trips, mileage and fuel usage.
• Plan routes in advance and ensure guests reach their destinations safely and on time.
• Assist the reception and hotel operations team when not conducting transfers.
• Maintain professionalism and guest confidentiality at all times.
• Provide guests with friendly and knowledgeable assistance regarding Durban and surrounding areas.
• Be available for early-morning or evening transfers when required.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

• A valid South African driver’s licence.
• A clean and responsible driving record.
• Previous professional driving, chauffeur, hotel or hospitality experience will be advantageous.
• Good knowledge of Durban, Umhlanga, King Shaka International Airport and surrounding areas.
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability.
• Good communication skills and the ability to communicate professionally with guests.
• A friendly, calm and service-oriented personality.
• A neat, professional and well-groomed appearance.
• Ability to assist guests with luggage.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays and early mornings/evenings when required.
• Ability to use Google Maps or other navigation applications confidently.
• High levels of honesty, discretion and responsibility.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for more than someone who can simply drive.

The ideal candidate should understand hospitality and guest service. You may be the first Saint James team member a guest meets when arriving in Durban, so your professionalism, friendliness and attitude are extremely important.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their appearance, takes care of the hotel vehicle as if it were their own and always puts guest safety and comfort first.

Pay: R5 500,00 - R12 500,00 per month
