Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals to a high standard, following set menus and special dietary requirements
• Ensure meals are well-presented, flavoursome, and served on time
• Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and allergen-control standards
• Assist with menu planning and recipe development
• Monitor stock levels and support with ordering and stock rotation
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with regulatory standards
• Work collaboratively with the catering team to ensure smooth service
• Engage positively with residents, respecting their preferences and feedback

Skills and Competencies

• Proven experience as a Chef in hospitality, catering, or a similar environment
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations
• Ability to produce high-quality meals at scale
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Compassionate approach when working with older adults

Qualifications

• Must have completed a National Senior Certificate
• NQF qualifications in hospitality
• Previous experience working in Healthcare would be advantegeous
