Job description

Conducts chemical and quality testing on raw materials, in-process samples and finished products to ensure products meet GMP, quality and specification requirements. Provides accurate test results and supports Production and Quality Control.

  • Perform chemical and quality testing on raw materials, in-process samples and finished products.
  • Prepare and analyse samples according to approved SOPs and testing methods.
  • Perform HPLC, GC and other required laboratory analyses.
  • Conduct stability testing and routine quality testing as required.
  • Ensure all testing is completed accurately and within required timelines.
  • Operate laboratory equipment correctly and ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Record, review and report test results accurately and ensure all laboratory documentation is complete.
  • Ensure all testing activities comply with GMP, SOPs, safety requirements and quality standards.
  • Identify, investigate and escalate abnormal results, testing errors and deviations.
  • Provide accurate laboratory results and technical feedback to Production, QA and other relevant departments.
  • Support investigations into out-of-specification and other laboratory-related issues.
  • Maintain good laboratory housekeeping and ensure samples, records and equipment are properly managed.
  • Assist with improving laboratory methods, processes and testing efficiency.
  • Ensure laboratory records and reports are maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor testing progress and communicate any delays or issues to the QC Team Leader.
  • Support internal and external audits by ensuring laboratory records and processes are accurate and compliant.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant analytical methods, pharmaceutical testing requirements and quality standards.

Qualification:

  • National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or a related Chemistry/Laboratory qualification.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years' relevant laboratory/analytical chemistry experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment. Experience with HPLC and GC is required/preferred.
