Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the entire housekeeping department.
- Supervise Housekeeping Managers, Supervisors, Cabin Stewards, Public Area teams, and Laundry staff.
- Ensure guest cabins, suites, public areas, and crew areas meet luxury cleanliness standards.
- Conduct inspections and quality audits throughout the ship.
- Develop cleaning schedules and manage manpower planning.
- Control housekeeping budgets, supplies, linen inventory, and operating costs.
- Ensure compliance with sanitation, hygiene, and public health requirements.
- Handle escalated guest complaints and service recovery.
- Train, coach, and evaluate housekeeping personnel.
- Coordinate with Front Office, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and Marine departments.
- Prepare operational reports and maintain department performance standards.
- Ensure emergency procedures and safety regulations are followed.
Requirements
- 5–10+ years of housekeeping experience in luxury hotels, resorts, or cruise ships.
- Previous experience as an Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping Manager, or senior supervisor.
- Strong leadership and large-team management experience.
- Excellent knowledge of cleaning standards, sanitation procedures, and inventory control.
- Experience working with luxury guest expectations.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Ability to manage a multicultural team in a high-pressure environment.
Pay: R30 000,00 - R40 000,00 per month
