Job Title: Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Reporting : Country Manager

Role Overview

As the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at L'Oréal, you will be a key senior executive responsible for defining, leading, and executing our global technology and digital infrastructure strategy. You will ensure that our IT systems, data capabilities, and digital tools empower our four divisions (Luxe, Consumer Products, Professional Products, and Dermatological Beauty) to achieve our vision of becoming the world's leading Beauty Tech company.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Governance

  • Define and execute the global IT strategy aligned with L'Oréal's "Beauty Tech" vision
  • Drive the digital transformation roadmap across all divisions (Luxe, Consumer Products, Professional Products, Dermatological Beauty)
  • Govern IT investment decisions and prioritize the technology portfolio

Infrastructure & Operations

  • Oversee global IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, networks, and data centers
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance across all geographies
  • Lead the migration to cloud-first architectures (e.g., partnerships with Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Champion cybersecurity frameworks and data protection policies
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, local data regulations, and internal governance standards
  • Manage IT risk and business continuity planning

Innovation & Emerging Technologies

  • Identify and integrate emerging technologies: AI, GenAI (e.g., L'OréalGPT), IoT, augmented reality, blockchain
  • Foster an innovation culture within IT teams
  • Collaborate with external tech partners, startups, and academic institutions

Digital Workplace & Employee Experience

  • Drive adoption of digital tools and collaboration platforms (Microsoft 365, Teams, AI companions)
  • Enhance employee productivity through smart technology solutions
  • Champion programs like Simplicity 2 to reduce friction in daily work

Data & Analytics

  • Partner with the Chief Data Officer to build a data-driven organization
  • Enable access to real-time business intelligence across all functions
  • Support the One Data Portal and unified data platform initiatives

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Lead and develop a global IT workforce of thousands of professionals
  • Build diverse, inclusive, and agile technology teams
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with key technology vendors (Microsoft, SAP, Salesforce, Google, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Education: Master's degree or MBA in IT, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Experience: 15-20+ years in technology leadership roles, ideally in FMCG or retail
  • Technical Expertise: Cloud, ERP (SAP), CRM, cybersecurity, AI/ML, data architecture
  • Leadership & Soft Skills Proven track record managing large, global, cross-cultural teams
  • Languages: English mandatory; French is a strong asset (HQ in Paris)
  • Mindset: Agile, innovation-driven, business-oriented, customer-centric
