Child and Youth Care Worker (CYCW) for CYCC

CHILD AND YOUTH CARE CENTRE CYCW POST

Home of Hope Child and Youth Care Centre (CYCC) invites interested candidates to apply for employment as a residential child and youth care worker at a CYCC located in Milnerton, Cape Town.

Full time position available: 2 positions (male and female applicants welcome to apply)

Scope of work:

• Hands on caring tasks around the daily functioning of the children
• Assess and respond to individual needs of the children
• Report and manage children's behaviour in line with developmental and behaviour plan for each child
• Medical care, including the constant monitoring of children's wellbeing and reporting of sick children to management
• Assist in the implementation of planned activities, recreational, developmental and therapeutic programmes
• Perform administrative tasks in line with policies
• Participate in a multidisciplinary team, working in the best interest of the child

Minimum requirements for applicants:

• Child and Youth Care Qualification (NQF Level 5 advantageous)
• Drivers license with driving experience
• Registration with SACSSP (2026/2027)
• Police clearance certificate
• Child Protection Register Screening
• Passion for working with children who have disabilities
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Ability to act as trusted advisor to the children
• Experience in the CYCC field would be advantageous
• 2 contactable references
