Civil Design Engineer

Consulting Engineers based in Bellville in need of a Civil Design Engineer with a minimum of 4 – 5 years’ experience. The successful candidate will be to produce technical deliverables and to assist the well-established team of Engineers and Technologists in the design, procurement, contract administration and construction monitoring of large scale multi-disciplinary projects. The successful candidate will form part of an existing design office and will report to the Directors.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Design of municipal services, including the preparation of the relevant documentation

Produce technical deliverables for the design and implementation of bulk earthworks platforms, roads, stormwater-, sewer-, water services

Prepare bills of quantities and technical project specifications in line with the relevant SANS codes

Construction monitoring during implementation stage of projects

Prepare as-built drawings and close-out reports

Develop innovative and cost-effective solutions to problems/challenges

Interaction with Municipalities, Project Team and Clients

Qualifications

B.Eng / B.Sc / B.Tech (Civil Engineering)

Minimum 4 – 5 years’ experience working on medium to large projects within the civil services design environment (sewer networks, stormwater networks, water networks & bulk earthworks)

Experience in Stormwater Management Plans will be beneficial

Registered with ECSA as Pr.Eng / Pr.Tech will be adv or eligible for professional registration with ECSA in the next 2 to 5 years will be to the candidate’s advantage

Computer Software: Civil Designer & AutoCAD

Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English & Afrikaans)

Excellent organisational and time management skills

Problem solving mindset with attention to detail

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Adaptability and flexibility to meet project demands
