Civil/ Structural Engineer
Introduction
Dinga Business Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Civil/ Structural Engineer with proven experience in equipment plinths, support frames, anchors, penetrations, roof or external plant support and structural verification in operational facilities.
- Professional registration: Active registration with ECSA as PrTechEng or PrEng
-Experience: 3+ years of post-registration experience with ECSA
- Minimum educational requirements: BTech, BSc and/ or BEng Civil Engineering
- Comprehensive, working mastery of SANS (South African National Standards)
Key Responsibilities
-Design and draft civil engineering works in accordance with project requirements. Prepare engineering documentation, drawings and technical deliverables.
Handle structural design, modifications, and verification for heavy mechanical infrastructure.-Ensure that all support frames, plant housing, and structural alterations safely accommodate mechanical loads while keeping facilities fully functional.
- Engineer concrete equipment plinths, structural steel support frames and robust anchoring systems
- Coordinate civil engineering designs with other professional disciplines to ensure optimal project integration
- Design, analyze, and certify roof-top and external plant support platforms, factoring in dead loads, live loads, wind distribution and environmental exposure
- Deliver technical designs that strictly follow official quality, safety, and regulatory standards that adhere to quality management systems.
- Perform structural integrity assessments and verification within live, operational facilities. Evaluate existing structural capacities to support new or upgraded mechanical plant equipment without disrupting ongoing facility operations.
- Plan, detail, and sign off on structural penetrations through reinforced concrete slabs, masonry, and steel frames required for large HVAC ducting, risers, and piping networks
- Calculate dynamic loading, vibration isolation requirements, and seismic/ wind restraints for plant equipment in compliance with SANS regulations.
- Apply relevant design codes and construction specifications to project work
- Ensure quality, accuracy and compliance when reviewing designs and deliverables
