Job description
Band 7 Advanced Nurse Practitioner / Advanced Clinical Practitioner - Medicine & Unscheduled Care
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) / Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join a well-established team of ANP’s within Acute Medicine within Medicine and Unscheduled Care.
Within this post, staff will have the opportunity to work within:
- Acute Medicine (RAAC/DVT clinic/Short Stay Medicine/AMIA)

The post holder will be encouraged and supported to maintain and develop both their core competencies and any area‑specific competencies required for Advanced Practice in Acute Care. Evidence of working and thinking at Master’s level should be demonstrated within the post holder’s personal professional portfolio. The post holder will have an identified Practice Supervisor and will be allocated dedicated non‑clinical time to ensure compliance with the Advanced Practice Best Practice Guide.
This is a dynamic role, developed in conjunction with the expansion of the ANP/ ACP role within the Flow Navigation Centre (FNC). The post holder will be supported to gain valuable experience and knowledge within all areas of Acute Medicine and will contribute to the development of new service models to reflect NHS Grampian’s clinical strategy and improve patient outcomes.
Medicine and Unscheduled Care Acute Medicine incorporates the Rapid Access Ambulatory Care (RAAC), Acute Medical Initial Assessment (AMIA), DVT service and Short Stay Medical Unit. The post holder will provide high‑level, autonomous clinical practice within the Acute Medicine service, undertaking the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of adults presenting with acute, undifferentiated, or complex medical conditions.

Through utilisation of Near Me video and telephone consultations, the post holder will support safe, effective decision‑making to ensure patients receive the right care, at the right time, in the right place.
This post is for 12 hour shift pattern, covering Monday to Sunday. The post is predominantly day shift, however due to service demands there will be an expectation that the post holder can work twilight and nightshifts as required.
