Claims Administration Internship (12 Months)

Purpose

Obtain and capture information from the life insured, beneficiaries or designated persons for the purpose of registering a life or funeral claim. To advise of the possibility of a claim decline, and provide information as to the claims process, and value-added services such as the repatriation benefit. To follow up on outstanding documents from claimants and ensure that headstone benefits are processed within SLA.

Key Responsibility Areas / duties

  • Administration
    • Conduct data entry into company systems, and review and verify the information to ensure accuracy and accessibility
    • Provide best practice support to customers on the administration process requirements and other departmental systems, inline with claims policy, rules and SLAs
  • Data Management
    • Support others by working on a variety of data management tasks.
    • Provide Claims Assessors with the necessary assistance in gathering information/documents as and when required
  • Document Preparation
    • Use standard office software to carry out basic formatting on letters, memoranda and routine reports.
  • Handling Enquiries and Correspondence
    • Answer the telephone and assist callers or those making varied enquiries by email or mail with any basic requests for information, directing more complex matters to colleagues as necessary.

  • External Communication
    • Create positive experiences for clients by interacting courteously with them.
  • Customer Service
    • Carry out standard customer service activities and handle simple customer enquiries.
  • Customer Management (External and Internal)
    • Help manage customers by carrying out standard activities and provide solutions for first call resolution and completion of customer request and executed according to the required standard.
  • Customer Needs & Analysis
    • Ask questions and probe for clarity to gathers relevant information to assist in resolving customer request.
  • Operational Compliance
    • Develop working knowledge of the organisation's policies and procedures and of regulatory codes and codes of conduct relevant to own work, adhering to mandatory procedures to ensure own work is undertaken to the required standards.
  • Work Scheduling and Operational Compliance
    • Work according to an assigned schedule.
    • Follow a range of mandatory procedures to ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct.
