Job description
Seeking an experienced Cleaning Supervisor / Team Leader to form part of our proposed team for a major commercial cleaning and hygiene services contract at a corporate head office in Sunninghill, Johannesburg.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising cleaning staff, coordinating daily cleaning activities, maintaining service standards and liaising with the client's representative.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar cleaning supervisory/team leader role.
- Proven experience in commercial/office cleaning environments.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, hygiene standards and cleaning equipment.
- Ability to supervise and coordinate a team of cleaning staff.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prepare basic reports, work schedules and task allocations.
- Ability to work in a professional corporate environment.
- South African ID required.
- Contactable employment references required.
- A criminal/background check will be required.
- Relevant cleaning, hygiene, OHS or supervisory training will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the cleaning team.
- Allocate daily cleaning duties and monitor completion.
- Ensure offices, carpets, floors, common areas, kitchens and ablution facilities are maintained to the required standard.
- Monitor cleaning and hygiene consumables.
- Conduct inspections and identify areas requiring corrective action.
- Maintain cleaning checklists and daily records.
- Report defects, damages and maintenance issues to management.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed.
- Assist with staff induction and training.
- Liaise professionally with the client's representative.
- Participate in weekly service review meetings and provide written reports where required.
