Job description
Remote – South Africa
Full-time
R14,000–R18,000 per month, depending on experience
We’re looking for a friendly, organised and highly reliable person to join a growing professional services business, working remotely from South Africa.
This is a varied client-facing role combining phone-based client service, appointment booking and general administration.
You'll often be the first person a new client speaks to, so we're looking for someone who is confident and warm on the phone, communicates clearly and can make people feel comfortable while remaining professional.
What you'll be doing
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Answering incoming calls and speaking with prospective and existing clients
- Understanding the reason for a client's enquiry and gathering basic information
- Booking clients into appointments with the appropriate member of the team
- Making occasional outbound calls to follow up with enquiries
- Responding to emails and other client messages
- Updating client records and our CRM accurately
- Following up with clients for information or documents
- Supporting our lawyers and wider team with administrative tasks
- Keeping appointments, client information and internal records organised
- Helping us improve our administrative processes as the business grows
You won't be expected to provide legal advice. Training, scripts and clear processes will be provided.
About you
We're particularly interested in someone who:
- Speaks and writes excellent English
- Is confident, natural and professional on the telephone
- Is friendly and empathetic without sounding scripted
- Is highly organised and pays attention to detail
- Is comfortable using modern online software and learning new systems
- Can work independently without needing constant supervision
- Is dependable and takes ownership of their work
- Is comfortable dealing with people who may occasionally be stressed or upset
- Has a quiet, professional environment from which to work remotely
- Has a reliable computer and internet connection
Previous experience in administration, reception, customer service, legal services, healthcare, financial services or another professional-services environment would be particularly useful.
You do not need previous legal experience.
Working with us
We're a small, growing team and try to use technology and good processes to eliminate unnecessary admin.
This isn't a call-centre role. We want clients to feel that they're speaking to a real person who understands their enquiry and genuinely wants to help.
There is also plenty of opportunity for the role to grow. Someone who performs well could take on greater responsibility for client operations, processes and eventually helping to manage other administrative staff as the team expands.
Hours
This is a full-time remote position, Monday to Friday.
You'll need to be available during our core UK client hours. Exact working hours will be agreed before starting.
Pay
R15,000–R18,000 per month, depending on experience.
How to apply
Please send us:
- Your CV
- A short introduction telling us about yourself and why you think you'd be good at the role
- Details of any previous customer-facing, telephone or administrative experience
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to complete a short practical exercise involving a fictional client enquiry before interview.
Pay: R14 000,00 - R18 000,00 per month
Work Location: Remote
