Job description
Maternal, Adolescent & Child Health Institute NPC, (MatCH) is a non-profit organisation supporting public sector health services. MatCH implements donor funded projects to improve HIV and TB outcomes through providing technical assistance and direct service delivery support. MatCH is looking for suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions under a project aimed at Achieving and Sustaining HIV/TB Epidemic Control in the KwaZulu Natal Province

Main purpose of the job
The incumbents will provide leadership for clinical services for prevention including Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV, provision of Pre-exposure Prophylaxis for pregnant and breastfeeding women and HIV treatment, early infant diagnosis and services for children exposed to and living with HIV.
Key Responsibilities
- Support services to address early identification, treatment linkage and viral load suppression for pregnant and breastfeeding women
- Support the conduct of joint OVC and PMTCT visits to provide peer support for ART adherence
- Provide technical assistance and support for community and facility adherence support groups in the cluster
- Ensure the longitudinal tracking for mother-baby pairs
- Ensure the registration and timely initiation of appropriate prophylaxis for high-risk infants and comprehensive HIV exposed infant services
- Provide support for paediatric and adolescent specific case finding and care and treatment activities.
- Provide support for Family-based differentiated services delivery models for the continuity of treatment and adherence support.
- Ensure the provision of clinical services for PMTCT and PrEP for PBFW according to the National and Provincial Department of Health (DoH) policy, guidelines and standard operational procedures.
- Provide technical assistance to optimize and improve the clinical management of PMTCT and PrEP for PBFW·
- Deliver and address quality of clinical services for PMTCT and PrEP for PBFW
- Provide on-site mentorship and training to health care workers on quality improvement and clinical care
- Conduct files audits and clinical reviews and develop remediation plans to address any gaps identified.
- Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on clinical services
- Identify and document good facility practices from implemented Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) activities
- Conduct transition readiness assessments for PMTCT and PrEP services and develop action plans
- Participate in the facility's bi-weekly and monthly review meetings
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
· Diploma in Nursing
· SANC registration
· NIMART Certificate
· 4 years relevant experience in a public health setting
· Valid Driver’s License
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities
· Experience in a donor funded organisation and PEPFAR funded programmes desirable
· Post graduate degree
· Certificate in HIV management and dispensing
· Training in PrEP, Primary Health Care and Integrated Management of Childhood illness
· Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office
· Attention to detail
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Willingness to travel
